Who we are

The Association is a ‘not-for-profit’ that seeks to advance the responsible use of innovative AI technologies in financial services, banking and insurance.

We represent current AI practitioners, or those exploring the use of AI, with members across the full spectrum of the industry including investment banking, asset management, insurance, hedge funds, retail financials services, neo banks, payment providers, venture capital and private equity.

Membership is currently free for those employed by a firm with a regulated entity.

The Association is a Community Interest Company registered at Companies House, number  16883650.

Problem Statement

The Association supports

  • Firms

    Firms face lack of regulatory clarity, cluttered vendor landscape, unclear use cases and difficulty in proving ROI.

  • Ecosystem

    No coherent voice or representation of industry practitioners. Lack of vendor agnostic community to share best practise with peers under Chatham House rules.

  • Vendors

    Huge complexity and overlap in the market, with a plethora of large tech firms and numerous specialist vendors necessary for successful AI projects, such as AI specialist ethics, governance, cyber etc.

  • Realising value

    The Global AI market is project to be worth $1.8tr USD by 2030, with financial services expected to allocate 16% of their technology budget to AI. The Financial Services industry must harness the huge potential of AI to drive better customer outcomes and shareholder value. This will also support the UK’s ambition to be “the home” of both fintech and AI.

Activities

  • We provides a unified voice to represent industry concerns by engaging with key government stakeholders to influence policy and legislation. We meets with regulators to shape regulation and compliance standards, and seek to create and influence frameworks that impact the industry.

  • We organise conferences, events, and forums both online and in person to connect members. We aim to facilitate industry partnerships, collaboration, and provide B2B networking.

  • We seek to develop and maintain ethical, operational, and technical standards. We support out members in publishing guidelines and frameworks for compliance and risk management.

  • We run educational programs, workshops, and certifications. We provide support for our members on compliance, new technologies, and regulations. We support the skills in UK firms, and foster talent development through job boards and mentorship.

  • We conduct and publish reports, whitepapers, and surveys on market trends. We offer economic analysis and benchmarking for firms.
